Reiki Treatments and Sessions

What is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced “Ray-key”) is a simple Japanese energy balancing method developed by a man called Mikao Usui in the early 1900’s.

Reiki practitioners use some meditations and work with a sort of energy – called “Chi” – to help balance their energy system.  Reiki can also be used to “treat” other people and may people have regular treatments.

Reiki Treatments

Receiving Reiki from a practitioner is a simple process.  The received lies on a treatment table and the practitioner will gently lay their hands on the body in a series of positions on the head, torso and legs, sometimes hovering the hands rather than touching.  Each position is held for a few minutes.  During the treatment, energy is drawn through the practitioner into the recipient, helping to produce a state of balance.  The recipient remains clothed throughout the treatment.

What will I feel?

Relaxation, heat, cold, tingles, twitching, a warm loving feeling, waves of energy, floating or nothing at all.  No two people are alike!

No matter what, be sure that Reiki is giving you what you need.

How many Reiki treatments do I need?

While a one-off treatment will do something beneficial for you, bringing a sense of calm and peacefulness, and maybe producing some short term physical benefits too, the best results come through having a course of treatments, maybe 4 to 6 sessions at weekly intervals.

The effects of Reiki build up cumulatively, you see, and having a course of treatments helps to produce long-term beneficial changes for you on many levels.

The Reiki principles

Reiki practitioners try to follow a set of “rules” to live by, which are listed below:

  • Just for today do not anger
  • Just for today do not worry
  • Be grateful and humble
  • Be Honest
  • Be compassionate towards yourself and others
FEES

£30 per session.  Each session will last about 1 hour.  Additional time may be required for the first session to gather background information but there is no additional charge for this.

THE SMALL PRINT

Reiki is not a substitute for medical treatment.  If you have a physical, emotional or mental problem you should visit your G.P.  A Reiki practitioner will NOT diagnose or recommend any form of treatment.  Reiki is completely safe and will complement any medication, or form of complementary or medical treatment.
